Job Description Job Description Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is currently hiring a Medical Assistant in New York, NY. This is an on-site contract opportunity with a Monday-Friday schedule. Position Highlights: · Pay: $22 to $24/hour · Type: Six-Month Contract, possibility of extension · Location: New York, NY · Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM-5:30 PM; Friday, 7:45 AM-4:00 PM Primary Responsibilities: · Provide direct patient care and assist physicians and clinical staff with examinations, procedures, and treatments. · Escort and direct patients to exam rooms and prepare them for appointments in a timely manner. · Obtain and document vital signs, perform vision screenings, and complete other authorized clinical procedures within scope of practice. · Assist physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses during exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. · Perform selected laboratory tests and collect/process specimens for transport to the laboratory. · Ensure specimens are properly labeled and that appropriate orders are entered in the electronic medical record. · Prepare e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies as directed by the physician and in accordance with established policies. · Clean, prepare, inspect, and process clinical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines. · Provide proactive, compassionate patient care while addressing individual patient and family needs. · Communicate patient needs and concerns to the appropriate clinical team members in a timely manner. · Follow all applicable clinical policies, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality requirements. · Provide coverage at other locations when needed. Travel between locations may occasionally be required based on coverage needs. Required Qualifications: · Medical Assistant experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting required. · Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required. · Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required. · Current BLS certification required. · Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. · Proactive approach to patient care with strong teamwork and communication skills. · Flexible and adaptable when priorities, processes, or coverage needs change. · Ability to learn new systems, processes, and responsibilities quickly.
