Urgent Care Advanced PractitionersUrgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducation· Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants· Master's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork Experience· 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required· Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required· Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferredRequired Licenses/Certifications· National Certification· Active state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required· Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting· Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.Essential Functions- Examining and treating patients- Taking patients' medical histories- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients- Educating and counseling patients- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients- Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional careEach provider will work an anticipated four (4), eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative of GoHealth Urgent CareAll other duties as assignedAll qualified persons are granted an equal opportunity for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, age, national origin, citizenship status, disability, genetic information, medical condition, family care leave status, pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition, otherwise qualified disabled or veteran status.
