Schedule

• Five days per week
• Typical hours are approximately 10:00/11:00 AM to 6:30/7:30 PM
• Specific schedule and assigned days will be discussed during the interview process

Position Overview

The Behavior Technician (BT) provides behavioral support services to adults participating in residential rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. This role focuses on implementing behavior support plans, promoting resident success, and assisting with daily living and community-based activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized behavior support plans and ABA-based interventions
• Provide one-on-one support to residents
• Assist residents with daily living skills and community integration
• Coach and support direct care staff on engagement techniques and de-escalation strategies
• Collect, document, and report behavioral data accurately
• Monitor resident progress and communicate observations to the clinical team
• Respond to behavioral escalations using approved safety and intervention procedures
• Maintain professional and therapeutic interactions with residents, families, and staff

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Driver’s License
• Experience with data collection, documentation, and data entry
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently
• Ability to work with residents who may experience behavioral crises or display physical aggression
• Ability to complete required training and maintain compliance with company policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in behavioral health, applied behavior analysis (ABA), residential care, direct support, or group home settings
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred but not required
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field preferred but not required

Training Requirements

Week 1 – Orientation

• Monday through Friday
• 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Attendance is required for all five days at the Ann Arbor campus

Week 2 – On-the-Job Training

• Three shadow shifts with an experienced team member
• Completion of behavioral safety training
• Independent work begins upon successful completion of training requirements

• Background Check
• Fingerprinting
• No Drug Test Required
