Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour


Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM, with an 8-hour shift scheduled within that window. No remote flexibility.

Job Description:


The Desktop Support / Help Desk Technician will provide hands-on and remote technical assistance to end users. This position combines traditional help desk responsibilities with field-based desktop support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both troubleshooting issues remotely and working directly with users and equipment.


The role will support computers, monitors, printers, peripherals, Windows environments, applications, user accounts, networking, and other technology throughout the organization. The position also includes occasional travel to support remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems involving Windows 10/11, computers, printers, monitors, and other peripherals.
• Assist users with Microsoft applications, account access, and common technical issues.
• Perform computer installations, configurations, upgrades, replacements, and equipment refreshes.
• Image and prepare computers and other devices for deployment.
• Support Active Directory and basic user administration functions.
• Diagnose and resolve common LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity issues.
• Respond to help desk requests by phone and through ticketing systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and equipment changes.
• Escalate more complex technical problems to the appropriate IT teams.
• Travel to field locations using company-provided vehicles to provide onsite technical support.
• Communicate clearly with end users regarding ticket status, troubleshooting, and expected resolution times.
• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month.
• Collaborate with other IT professionals to maintain consistent support processes and service levels.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of desktop support experience with an Associate degree in an IT-related field, OR 4+ years of relevant desktop support experience with a high school diploma/GED.
• Hands-on experience supporting Windows operating systems and desktop hardware.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, applications, and network connectivity.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and user administration.
• Experience with computer imaging, deployment, and device configuration.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or similar business applications.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently while knowing when to escalate an issue.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote locations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Details:

• This is a fully onsite position with no remote work option.
• Occasional travel is required, generally within approximately 150-160 miles of Oklahoma City.
• Overnight travel is very infrequent, typically no more than a couple of times per year.
• The position participates in an on-call rotation approximately one week per month.
• Some after-hours support may be required for urgent technical issues.
• Ability to lift and transport computer equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
• The role involves extended periods working at a computer as well as hands-on field support.
