Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day, Mid Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years ER experience required License: MO or Compact required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, SAFE Must-Have: - Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Services - IV therapy/Phlebotomy - Medications - Neurological - Orthopedics - Pediatrics - Psychiatric - Respiratory - Shock/Trauma Description: Locals are not allowed. There is a 60-mile radius rule with no exceptions. First-time travelers are accepted; experience and qualifications will be reviewed. The start date is ASAP. The schedule includes a combination of shifts from 11:00 - 23:00 and 13:00 - 01:00. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and SAFE (provided). NRP and TNCC are preferred certifications. The patient ratio is 1:4. Patients include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Nurses may be required to float to another department as Helping Hands or take a patient assignment. The nurse floating will not be required to care for patients outside of their established competencies. Expect to work some holidays. Keep requests for time off to a minimum, preferably no requests for an entire calendar week off during the assignment. Any time-off requests must be approved before the start of the assignment. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various departments. Specific skills required include the management of various medical conditions and procedures. The unit operates with a maximum of 20 rooms and 16 beds.
