Shipping Lead – Contract-to-Hire | Lake Zurich, ILA growing manufacturing company in the northwest suburbs of Chicago is looking for a Shipping Lead to join its team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will be responsible for coordinating daily shipping priorities, ensuring materials are available for production, maintaining inventory accuracy, and keeping customer orders moving on schedule.You will work closely with Production, Purchasing, and suppliers to identify and resolve material shortages and will remain hands-on throughout the day by:Picking and packing customer ordersReceiving and putting away incoming materialsOrganizing warehouse inventoryOperating a forkliftAssisting with product assembly when neededReviewing daily shipping priorities and identifying potential production/material shortagesMonitoring inventory and following up on open work ordersProviding direction and accountability to a team of threeIdentifying opportunities to improve processes and department efficiencyWhat We're Looking For:3+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience in a discrete manufacturing environmentSomeone who wants to grow into leadership and take ownership of a departmentPrevious formal leadership experience is a plus, but the desire and ability to lead is more importantHigh-energy, self-motivated individual who isn't satisfied with simply maintaining the status quoERP experience and strong Microsoft Excel skillsForklift experienceAbility to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.Strong communication and organizational skillsExperience working with Production, Purchasing, and/or suppliers is a plusUPS WorldShip or similar shipping software experience is a plusBilingual English/Spanish is a plusThis is a great fit for someone who has been a strong Shipping/Receiving or Warehouse Lead and is ready for the opportunity to officially step into a leadership role.Location: Lake Zurich, ILSchedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PMPay: $23–$26/hour, potentially up to $28/hourType: Contract-to-HireStart: ASAP #J-18808-Ljbffr
