Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a CVICU RN with a NJ or compact license, open heart recovery experience, and advanced cardiac device skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiovascular ICU setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes post-open heart recovery patients transferred directly from the OR
• Care for patients using advanced cardiac devices including balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and ECMO
• Shift: Days, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend and holiday shifts are required
• Travelers may float to five hospitals within skillset as needed
• Uses Epic for charting
• Responsible for post-open heart recovery and management of patients with advanced cardiac support devices
• Work schedule does not allow block scheduling
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• First time travelers are accepted, but not preferred
• All requested time off must be provided at time of application; no additional RTO will be accepted after submission
• Local candidates living within 50 miles are paid at a reduced rate

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• Direct open heart recovery experience required
• Proficient with advanced cardiac devices: balloon pumps, LVADs, Impella, and ECMO
• Must have current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test within 72 hours of signing the contract, on a PC device only, with a maximum of two attempts
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required, no exemptions
