Litigation Associate

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate to join a premier litigation practice in Dallas. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced litigator looking to work on sophisticated, high-stakes disputes across a broad range of industries and subject matters.

The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage complex matters while working closely with clients and senior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of complex litigation matters in state and federal courts
• Conduct legal research and draft:
  • Motions
  • Briefs
  • Legal memoranda
  • Other substantive court filings
• Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and fact development
• Participate in case strategy and litigation planning
• Assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
• Manage client communications and day-to-day case responsibilities
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple litigation disciplines and practice groups

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Law school class years 2018–2020
• Strong interest in and/or experience with litigation practice
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is welcomed:
  • Commercial litigation
  • Oil & gas litigation
  • Energy litigation
  • Fiduciary litigation
  • Employment litigation
  • Privacy litigation
  • Antitrust litigation
  • Securities litigation
  • Other complex business disputes
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and case management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated matters simultaneously
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• District court or appellate clerkship experience preferred but not required
• Deposition, hearing, and trial experience is a plus
• Strong academic credentials

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $365,000 – $420,000
