Hardscape Foremen and Hardscape Crew Members Starting Pay Range: Hardscape Crew Member: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (dependent on experience) Hardscape Foreman: $28.00 – $36.00+ per hour or salary option (based on experience and leadership level) Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person Job Summary Ground Works Land Design is hiring Hardscape Foremen and Hardscape Crew Members to join our growing team in Westlake, OH. Our crews install high-quality residential and commercial hardscape projects including patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways, artificial turf installations, and custom outdoor living features. Depending on experience, applicants may be considered for a leadership Foreman role or a hands‑on Crew Member position. We support an environment of growth and opportunity – we promote within! Our promotion track for this department is: Hardscape Crew Member > Hardscape Technician / Apprentice > Hardscape Foreman > Project Manager > Operations Manager. Duties / Responsibilities Hardscape Crew Members Assist with installation of paver patios, retaining walls, natural stone walkways, fire pits, and other outdoor living features Operate tools and equipment including saws, grinders, laser levels, and skid‑steer loaders Perform excavation, grading, and site preparation Follow direction from the Hardscape Foreman and management Maintain clean and safe job sites Hardscape Foremen Lead and supervise hardscape crews from project start through completion Coordinate daily schedules, materials, and equipment Train and develop crew members to Ground Works standards Communicate with Project Managers and clients when needed Ensure quality craftsmanship, safety compliance, and productivity Complete project documentation and inspections All Team Members May be on‑call for snow removal during winter months Must follow company safety standards and maintain a positive team culture Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications / Experience Hardscape Crew Member 1–2+ years of construction, hardscape, or landscape installation experience preferred Ability to use power tools and read a tape measure Able to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Hardscape Foreman Valid Driver’s license with minimal incidents or points in the last 3 years Has an advanced understanding of hardscape construction projects, including a clear understanding of the processes for properly laying paver patios, walkways, building stairs and garden walls Ability to lead crews, solve problems, and manage jobsite productivity Experience operating skid steers, tampers, or excavators Able to work in a fast‑paced environment a plus Able to analyze diverse problems and consistently make proper decisions *Spanish communication skills are a plus for all roles Why You Will Love It Here Winter/Snow Guaranteed Hours Promotion Potential and Growth Opportunities Health, Dental, Vision, Short/Long Term Disability Benefits 401k with Company Match Paid-Time Off and Holiday’s Off for Hourly and Salary Employees Company Uniforms Provided Company Clothing Store with Free Annual Credits Employee Appreciation Events and Happy Hours Physical Requirements Able to lift more than 100 lbs.
