Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform all Echocardiogram procedures. If applicable, perform infant and pediatric echocardiograms. Work closely with the Cardiologists and other departments. Maintain patient records and other documentation pertinent to the department. Perform high level disinfection processes for equipment. Participate in the monthly CQI process; follow hospital standards and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for accurate and timely completion of studies, reports, charges and audits. Ensures patients and family are properly informed of the procedure and patient comfort is maximized.

What you will do in this role:

• Performs the routine duties of a registered echo sonographer under the standards set by ICAEL.
• Prepares equipment and scanning area for patient procedures.
• Escorts patients to room and assists in positioning for necessary scan.
• Technologist is responsible for notifying physicians of critical findings, Work with scheduler to schedule patients.
• Tech will be able to perform clerical and technical related duties in regards to better patient care.
• Checks equipment, accessories and supplies. Keeps areas stocked at all times, cleans equipment after each patient use and cleans the ultrasound rooms daily.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• Certified by RDMS/CCI as one or more of the following, (RVT, RCIS, RVS, RCS), with one of the registries in Echo
• BCLS required
• ACLS certification preferred.
• 1 years experience Required
