Senior Family Law Attorney

Olsen Family Law is a boutique California family law firm with a focus on high-net-worth clients and financially sophisticated matters, including complex dissolution, custody, support, and premarital work in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz counties, with a statewide premarital practice. We are looking for an experienced senior family law attorney who brings deep experience, sound judgment, strong leadership, and a collaborative approach to practice. This is a senior role within the firm for someone who can independently lead complex matters while also mentoring junior attorneys, helping develop the team, and providing attorney leadership in the office. We are specifically looking for someone local to the Bay Area who wants to be an active part of the firm. This is a hybrid position, with an expectation of working from our office 2-3 days per week. What You'll Do Serve as lead attorney on complex dissolution, custody, support, and premarital matters Develop and execute case strategy, including on contested and financially sophisticated matters Draft and argue motions, handle evidentiary hearings and trials, and appear regularly in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz county courts Lead consultations and take primary responsibility for clients and matters assigned to you Supervise, mentor, and develop associate attorneys and support staff Delegate work effectively and help ensure matters are staffed at the appropriate level Collaborate with firm leadership on case staffing, workflow, training, and practice development Help develop client and referral relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the firm What We Offer $200,000 to $250,000 base salary, depending on experience Performance-based bonus tied to performance and contribution to the firm Hybrid schedule with approximately 2-3 days per week in office Reasonable billable expectations designed to support high-quality work and sustainable workloads A collaborative team that invests in one another's success Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) Three weeks PTO plus paid holidays Half-day Fridays CLE, CA Bar dues, and professional development covered Who We're Looking For 8+ years of California family law experience Active California State Bar license in good standing Significant experience handling complex family law matters from inception through resolution Strong courtroom experience, including contested hearings and trials Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop junior attorneys and staff Comfortable delegating work and managing matters through a team Sound judgment and the ability to serve as a resource for other attorneys Existing referral relationships or a genuine interest in developing them Able to work from our office approximately 2-3 days per week Available for in-person court appearances in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and Santa Cruz counties Self-directed, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership of both matters and team responsibilities #J-18808-Ljbffr
