Nutritionist Position
Professional-level Nutritionist accountable for professional work in the provision of nutrition services. Acts with independence in being accountable for the collection and assessment of anthropometric data. Accountable for the creation of individual meal plans and oversight of food preparation. Counsels' clients on how to lead healthier lifestyles and prevent or manage health issues related to nutrition. Participates in nutritional health improvement clinics. Participates in the administration of nutrition programs. Provides daily assistance and support to all WIC field staff, participants, internal and external partners regarding nutrition services. Will do community outreach to help bring in more WIC participants.
What you'll need to be successful: Desire to work and help all people; desire to evolve in a fast-paced work environment and work with a team to get participants seen and WIC certification completed. Must be empathetic yet abide by WIC policies and procedures. Must be able to multi-task, adapt to a changing schedule quickly, and be organized at paperwork, and participant follow-up. Need a desire to outreach to the public on WIC's behalf to pull in more participants. Must have a calm demeanor even when participants are angry or upset, children are crying or refusing to cooperate. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline and 0-3 years of experience as a Nutritionist.
