We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician routinely performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and components to ensure the continued safe, efficient, and effective operations of equipment used in the facility. This position also assists with maintaining parts inventory, organizing, and maintaining the maintenance shop, diagnosing equipment malfunctions and performing repairs. This position must be able to take a proactive approach to preventative maintenance to improve equipment reliability and lifespan. Responsibilities Complete routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on standardized equipment. Respond promptly to production requests involving equipment malfunctions and production line breakdowns. Assist in maintaining an organized maintenance shop and adequate parts inventory. Document completed work, including maintenance logs, reports, and procedures. Communicate and collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Quality, and other departments regarding maintenance priorities, project status, and equipment needs. Participate in training, retraining, continuous improvement initiatives, and process improvement activities. Ensure the facility is maintained in accordance with housekeeping standards and company guidelines. Operate, monitor, and perform basic maintenance on plant boiler systems in accordance with applicable regulations, safety procedures, and operating standards. Maintain boiler operating logs and assist with inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance activities. Follow all safety policies, work rules, and regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned or apparent. Requirements Skills and Abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, follow standardized work processes, and adhere to safe work practices within a continuous improvement culture. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to multitask and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Effective time management and organizational skills. General computer proficiency. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings. Ability to accurately distinguish colors. Commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Valid driver's license required. Flexibility to work overtime as needed, including on short notice. Ability to successfully complete forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift certification training. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Education and Experience Associate degree or two-year technical degree in a maintenance-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must obtain and maintain the required Boiler Engineer License within 12 months of hire. The company will provide and pay for training and support to assist employees in obtaining the license. Failure to obtain the required license within the specified timeframe may affect continued eligibility for the position. Two years of Maintenance Technician experience preferred. Knitting machine and sewing machine experience preferred. Basic electrical knowledge preferred. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Working conditions in the role of a Maintenance Technician may include exposure to risk of electric shock and non-hazardous chemical agents Regularly Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment Use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) Exposure to moving mechanical parts Frequently Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds Work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles Occasionally Sit Handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 250 pounds. Work at elevated heights of approximately 30 feet Other Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
