Cryogenics Instrumentation Technician (ET5)

Job Summary We are looking for a Cryogenics Instrumentation Technician to support the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of cryogenic instrumentation systems—equipment used to measure and control conditions in extremely cold environments, often involving liquid helium, liquid nitrogen, or other cryogenic fluids. Responsibilities Install thermocouples and cryo-diodes onto cryogen tanks for long‑term testing. Work with multi‑layered insulation. Operate Data Acquisition Systems (DAS). Occasionally work longer than 40 hours per week to meet testing milestones. Allocate 50‑75% of time in laboratories and shops. Work safely and comply with a rigid safety policy. Maintain high mechanical aptitude. Apply intermediate‑level electronics knowledge as a technician. Follow test procedures accurately and provide feedback on conditions that warrant change. Use basic computer skills for Office tools and Microsoft OS. Ensure reliable attendance. Qualifications Associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or technical degree with 4+ years of experience. 10‑15 years of experience working in test environments with specialty training (strongly preferred). U.S. Citizen with a STAR ID. Compensation & Benefits Hourly, overtime‑eligible position under the Service Contract Act (SCA). Compensation may vary based on fringe benefits selected.
