Position Summary

TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company is seeking an experienced Director, Stock Product BU to provide overall leadership and responsibility for the profitability, product management, budgeting, and operations of the Stock Product Business Unit.

This position is responsible for driving profitable growth, operational efficiency, and strategic differentiation across the Business Unit. The Director will develop and execute business strategies, establish sales objectives, manage resources, oversee product and operational activities, and lead a team of managers and employees toward achieving business and financial objectives.

This role requires in-depth knowledge of the electric motor and drive industry and strong experience in business strategy, product management, sales, operations, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain overall responsibility for the profitability and performance of the Stock Product Business Unit.
• Develop and execute strategies that drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, and strategic differentiation.
• Establish sales projections and business objectives for assigned Stock Product BU products.
• Lead operational efficiency initiatives across the Business Unit, including:
  • Order entry processes
  • Inventory planning
  • Pricing and margin analysis
  • New product launches
  • Overall Business Unit productivity
• Ensure Business Unit operations are aligned with strategic objectives, budgets, and operating plans.
• Coordinate product management activities with Field Sales, Research & Development, Engineering, and Marketing.
• Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing plans and programs for assigned products.
• Drive sales efforts and identify opportunities to grow the Stock Product Business Unit.
• Develop, administer, and manage the Business Unit budget.
• Allocate resources effectively to achieve specific business and financial objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction on operational issues, business priorities, and resource allocation.
• Make personnel and employment decisions in accordance with company policies and business needs.
• Analyze Business Unit performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product strategy, sales growth, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervise subordinate managers and non-management employees within the Business Unit.
• Provide leadership, direction, and support to the BU team.
• Plan, assign, and direct work based on Business Unit priorities and objectives.
• Interview, hire, and train employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development.
• Recognize and reward employee performance.
• Address performance concerns and administer disciplinary actions when appropriate.
• Address employee complaints and resolve workplace issues in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Establish business priorities and allocate personnel and other resources to achieve desired results.

QualificationsEducation & Experience

• Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• 4–10 years of related experience and/or training , or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the electric motor and drive industry .
• Experience in business unit management, operations, product management, sales, strategic planning, and/or financial management.
• Previous management and supervisory experience.

• Ability to interpret a wide variety of technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagram form.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business objectives.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to apply mathematical operations to business and analytical activities, including frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as talking and hearing. The employee may frequently be required to climb or balance and may occasionally be required to sit.

The position may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds . Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment includes regular exposure to vibration and frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure may include wet or humid conditions, high or precarious locations, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
