** Position Overview **
We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to support attorneys in all phases of personal injury cases, from investigation through settlement or trial. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, technologically savvy, and experienced in managing personal injury files. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, capability of handling multiple deadlines, and a client-centered approach to case management.
** Key Responsibilities **
• Manage personal injury cases from intake through litigation and resolution
• Obtain and organize medical records, bills, police reports, and related documentation
• Draft correspondence and legal documents
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files
• Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and experts
• Review, summarize, and analyze medical records and case materials
• Prepare medical summaries, chronologies, and demand packages
• Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation
• Open, track, and manage subrogation and medical lien claims
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA requirements when handling client information
• Coordinate with attorneys on strategy, case development, and deadlines
** Required Qualifications **
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Personal Injury law
• Strong knowledge of personal injury case management
• Experience handling subrogation claims and medical liens
• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
** Preferred Qualifications **
• Experience using Filevine, ChartSwap, and/or Ciox/Datavant
• Familiarity with West Virginia and Ohio personal injury procedures and insurance practices
• Paralegal certificate or relevant legal education (preferred but not required)
