The Teller I position ensures adherence to all bank operations and security procedures, including opening and closing duties and participating in dual-control processes. Key responsibilities include acknowledging customers, processing routine transactions, answering inquiries, and maintaining professionalism in communication. This role supports a positive branch environment by assisting team members and accepting managerial direction while exercising sound judgement within defined policies and Native American Bank's key core values.*This role is only open to candidates currently residing within a 45 miles radius from Tulalip, WA at this timeResponsibilitiesAdheres to all bank operations and security procedures, including opening and closing duties, participating in all dual-control processes including night drop, mailed in deposits, and currency audits.Customer acknowledgment upon entry and exiting of the bank.Interact with customers to demonstrate care, build relationships, and complete requested transactions.Answers customers' questions in person and/or on the telephone.Adheres to phone rotation requirements, available to answer calls when designated as primary.Communicates professionally using appropriate email etiquette and internal subject line guidance.Escalate questions and issues to more experienced roles, ensure any communication sent interdepartmentally has appropriate supervisory staff included.Processes routine transactions such as deposits, check cashing/withdrawals, and loan payments.Review scanned bank transaction tickets and evaluate for bank or customer errors; certify that transactions are sent to core provider for end of day processing.Verifies customer identity and Signature Cards when processing checks or withdrawals, following verification standards.Maintains cash drawer within set limits; balances drawer daily by reconciling transactions, counting currency/coin, and turning in overages or mutilated funds to the vault and/or Lead Teller.Safeguards customer information and upholds confidentiality to protect our customers as well as the bank.Attends training and proactively seeks opportunities for development through Jack Henry University, Reg U, or other internal platforms or resources.Supports branch success by embracing new requests, assisting team members, and contributing to a positive working environment.Accepts direction from managers and exercises judgment within defined policies and procedures.Attends quarterly Robbery & Incident Response Procedures.Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.QualificationsCustomer service focus, with experience in cash handling and bank transactions across multiple systems.Ability to educate customers and connect them with our digital banking options.Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers, team members, and other departments.Experience working within a team to meet customer needs.Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.Ability to identify potential fraud and take appropriate action to prevent loss and provide risk mitigation.Well-organized, independent, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Ability to exercise judgment, raise questions to management, and adhere to policy guidelines.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.BenefitsCompetitive salary and benefit packageProfessional development opportunitiesHealth, Dental and Vision InsuranceHealth Savings Account with company contributionEmployer paid Short-term and Long-term disability insuranceEmployer paid Life Insurance401(k) plan and matchingRTD Eco Pass (Denver) / ORCA (Seattle)Pet InsurancePaid Time OffVolunteer Time OffCompany CultureNative American Bank is a full-service community bank committed to meeting the financial needs of individuals, businesses, and non-profits within the Native American community and beyond.
