Sr. Network Engineer

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Network Deployment Engineer to deliver post-sales implementation services for complex network solutions. This role leads requirements definition, implementation planning, end-to-end system design, equipment staging, configuration development and testing, and geographically distributed software and hardware deployments while maintaining strong client partnerships and service quality.

Key Responsibilities

·         Deliver post-sales engineering implementation services for network solutions across multiple products and service offerings, including requirements definition, implementation planning, end-to-end system design, equipment staging, configuration development and testing, and geographically distributed software and hardware deployments.

·         Proactively evaluate solution specifications as customer requirements evolve and recommend changes that optimize value for both the client and the organization.

·         Prepare clear documentation for internal and external clients describing system designs and deployed solution configurations.

·         Coordinate remotely with Smart Hands teams and Project Managers to complete activities through clear communication and effective coordination.

·         Build and maintain professional, productive relationships with clients; infrastructure vendors, including ISPs and carrier services; software and hardware vendors; and other key contributors to ensure stable, high-quality delivery aligned with company objectives and client expectations.

·         Provide technical overviews of product architecture, functionality, system and data requirements, service delivery, and integration with enterprise applications.

·         Continuously research and apply knowledge of market and industry trends and benchmarks to identify, recommend, and implement best practices, methodologies, and relevant analytics.

·         Expand technical and nontechnical capabilities through ongoing learning, with particular emphasis on operating systems, networking infrastructure, and products.

·         Meet all financial performance objectives for the assigned area of responsibility and take corrective action as needed.

·         Implement and recommend improvements to deployment engineering methodologies, core competencies, and processes to support stable, high-quality product and service delivery.

·         Maintain a strong client service environment focused on predicting, detecting, and resolving problems; proactively remove barriers to client expectations; document issues, action plans, and outcomes promptly; and meet client satisfaction objectives and internal and external service-level agreements.

·         Recommend and support initiatives that improve, simplify, automate, and enhance day-to-day service delivery operations and the client experience.

·         Foster collaborative relationships within operations and across all organizational levels and departments to execute deployment engineering functions and company priorities.

·         Use established escalation and exception paths, processes, and systems to report current performance and recommend improvements.

·         Achieve performance targets established by leadership for applicable key performance indicators.

·         Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

·         At least five years of engineering deployment experience involving complex client requirements assessments, solution design, and implementation within the technology services industry.

·         Ability to work within established change management processes and procedures, understand documentation requirements, gather end-user requirements, and integrate work with existing standards within specified timeframes.

·         Previous post-sales engineering experience with network solutions, including requirements definition, implementation planning, end-to-end system design, equipment staging, configuration development and testing, and geographically distributed software and hardware deployments.

Technical Expertise and Certifications

·         Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Arista ACE or related certifications are preferred.

·         Experience working in a production data center environment and directly managing routers, switches, firewalls, global and local load balancing, DMZ environments, and DDI.

·         Proficient knowledge of industry-standard networking technologies and infrastructure, including cabling, LAN, WLAN, and WAN.

·         Extensive routing experience, including a thorough understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, route subnetting, and route aggregation techniques.

·         Demonstrated data center switching experience and knowledge, including the Nexus product line, spine-and-leaf architecture, Cisco ACI, and Arista CLOS.

·         End-to-end process thinking, with proven experience in business processes and workflow design.

·         Excellent problem-solving and systems analysis skills, with demonstrated success in root cause analysis, effectiveness measurement, and related documentation.

·         Demonstrated success in continually expanding and applying knowledge of technology, market, and industry trends to identify, recommend, and implement best practices and methodologies.

·         Ability to work effectively across functional groups to optimize product and service offerings, support a seamless internal and external client experience, and resolve issues accurately and on time.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Outlook; SharePoint; ERP systems; service delivery management tools; and related cloud-based technology systems.
