Custodian Position

O'Neill Public Schools will be hiring full-time or part-time custodians. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals with good people skills. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of building maintenance issues, positive communication skills, and the ability to work with a team. Responsibilities would also involve custodial duties as assigned following activities and may include some weekends. The positions will be full-time, 40 hours/week with insurance benefit options, sick and vacation leave, and retirement plan or part-time, 20 hours/week with limited benefits. Salary is competitive and based on skills and experience. Custodians will be assigned, supervised, and evaluated by the Superintendent and their duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Cleaning of assigned areas; Periodic inspection of facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness; Working in inclement weather conditions; Accomplishing minor repair work of school property and equipment; Storing and safely caring for all equipment and materials related to the job assignment; Controlling litter on grounds and limited snow removal; Using various cleaning chemicals. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information related to staff, students, and parents; Maintaining a cordial and cooperative working relationship with all personnel, students, patrons, and vendors. Performing other duties as assigned.
