Compensation C.N.A.s working at the Continuing Care Center receive shift differentials ranging from $1.00 to $5.00 per hour in addition to their base pay rate. Salary range: $24.50 – $28.60 per hour. The pay range reflects the lowest to highest possible rates; placement within the range depends on skills, experience, and comparison to others in the role. Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than for full-time, regular part-time, or part-time positions, and PRN differentials vary by position and department policy. This position performs resident/patient care activities and related services to meet personal needs, safety, and comfort of residents/patients. It involves supporting a positive physical, social, and psychological environment and collaborating with residents/patients, families, staff, and volunteers. It requires understanding patient care policies, regulations, and working with elderly patients and those with special needs. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with resident/patient care needs and comforts, including oral hygiene and mouth care, bathing, dressing, nail care, shaving, hair care, lifting, turning, positioning, transporting residents, making beds, keeping residents dry, assisting with bowel/bladder functions, and monitoring personal care needs. Assists with nursing functions including measuring and recording vital signs, weighing and measuring residents, collecting specimens, preparing and giving enemas, catheter care, diabetic urine testing, turning bedfast residents at least every two hours, providing range of motion exercises, assisting with care of dying residents, maintaining intake and output records, and noting observations to nurses. Performs food service functions including meal preparation assistance, serving food trays, assisting with feeding, recording food and fluid intake, serving snacks, keeping water pitchers clean and filled, post-meal care, noting changes in eating habits, maintaining area cleanliness, and recording/charging for supplies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred: High school Diploma or equivalent (GED). Six months of CNA experience in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility.
