About the Role As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will play a key role in delivering advanced surgical care across a diverse referral caseload. Working alongside specialists in multiple disciplines, you will perform a wide range of soft tissue, orthopaedic and minimally invasive procedures while contributing to the continued growth of the surgical service. This position is ideal for a surgeon who enjoys collaboration, values high clinical standards and wants to work in a supportive environment where new ideas and professional development are encouraged. - Performing advanced soft tissue and orthopaedic surgical procedures.
- Managing referral surgical cases from consultation through to discharge.
- Collaborating with specialists across multiple disciplines to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Interpreting advanced diagnostic imaging and laboratory findings.
- Providing exceptional communication and support to referring veterinarians and pet owners.
- Participating in the continued development of the surgical service.
- Mentoring interns and junior clinicians where appropriate.
- Maintaining the highest standards of clinical care and patient safety.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary degree.
- Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), or residency-trained candidate preparing for the ACVS Phase II examination.
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure in California.
- Excellent surgical, diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
