Responsibilities Manatee Memorial Hospital® in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over 70 years and has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. The 295‑bed hospital with over 800 physicians, residents and allied health professionals offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services—including robotic‑assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System, a weight‑loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care, women’s and children’s services. The hospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the only pediatric center hospital‑based outpatient multidisciplinary pediatric therapy center in Manatee County. The Senior Phlebotomist provides advanced support in specimen collection, laboratory workflow coordination, and customer service for patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. In addition to performing phlebotomy procedures, this role is responsible for “working the desk”—triaging specimen requests, responding to calls from nurses and physicians, receiving and processing specimens delivered to the lab, and coordinating timely redraws. The Senior Phlebotomist also trains and mentors team members, validates competencies, and serves as a resource to clinical staff on laboratory‑related processes. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies while supporting accurate, efficient, and compassionate specimen collection and laboratory operations.
