Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Neuro Medical Surgical Acute unit in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, spine surgery, seizures, and brain tumors. Candidates are required to bring their active Illinois nursing license on the first day. The position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Position: RN - Neuro MedSurg Acute (Medical Surgical with Telemetry)
• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: One shift, with attempts to meet requested days off; every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday considered the weekend), and every other holiday are required
• Certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation that application has been initiated; BLS (AHA); NIHSS; at least 1 year of experience; level 1 trauma experience; prior travel experience (no first-time travelers); experience working on a dedicated neuro unit; experience with heparin titrated drips based on PTT
• Additional Information:
  • Charge nurse available 24/7 without taking assignments unless short-staffed
  • House supervisor on duty 24/7
  • High flow oxygen therapy for stable COVID patients (very rare)
  • House-wide telemetry monitors (Phillips) with staff not required to read strips
  • Float in rotation with staff, with skills competency consideration for outside-unit floats
  • No specific scrubs required; tattoos covered, no piercings except ears
  • Orientation: two days with educator and one patient care day with a preceptor
  • No specific dress code related to color
  • Last four (4) digits of clinicians SSN required for submission
