Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for surgical patients from admission through discharge, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Assist the surgical team in the OR, including instrument handling, tissue management, and first-assist responsibilities as appropriate.
- Maintain sterile technique, adhere to infection control policies, position patients, and manage intraoperative safety checks.
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, support anesthesia, manage hemodynamics, and coordinate with the team; ensure accurate instrument and supply counts and efficient room turnover.
- Document perioperative care and procedures in the electronic medical record (Meditech Expanse) and communicate updates to the multidisciplinary team.
- Uphold CNOR standards and participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.

Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (state license must be uploaded with profile). Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) required for temporary staffing; upload up front.
- BSN degree required.
- CNOR certification required.
- BLS (American Heart Association) required.
- 2+ years of current OR nursing experience; First Assist responsibilities may apply.
- Meditech Expanse experience highly preferred.
- Own reliable personal vehicle for travel assignment.
- Ability to work in a hospital OR setting; schedule reflects 4x10-hour shifts.
- RTO requests up to 5 days must be noted at submission.
