Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts per week.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Our organization prioritizes patient and employee safety, promoting a culture of safety within all levels of care.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission to establish an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs related to the patient's diagnosis in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences regarding patient status and progress.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in medical records.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date.
• Communicate changes in patient status among care providers to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
• Promote safety in both personal and environmental contexts and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to team dynamics and assist in creating an efficient work environment.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Assume charge responsibilities following the orientation period, as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain facilities).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
