Material Handler

Material HandlerAs a Material Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently loading, unloading, and moving raw materials, in-progress work, and finished metal products throughout the facility. You will also be tasked with operating sit-down forklifts, reading and following production orders, and maintaining organized workspaces.ResponsibilitiesLoad, unload, and move raw materials, in-progress work, and finished metal products throughout the facility.Pull, stage, and organize materials based on production needs and work orders.Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials safely throughout the warehouse and production areas.Read and follow basic production orders to ensure materials are accurately prepared for processing.Use tape measures and basic measuring tools to verify material sizes and specifications.Assist machine operators by supplying materials and keeping workflow consistent.Palletize, label, and stage finished products for shipping or storage.Maintain clean and organized work areas in both warehouse and production spaces.Perform basic inspections to ensure materials meet quality and production standards.Conduct visual safety checks and report damaged materials or unsafe conditions.Follow all company safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times.Essential SkillsMaterial handlingForklift operationWarehouse operationOrder pullingInventory managementPicking and packingLoading and unloadingPackagingPallet jack operationSit-down forklift operationShipping and receivingInventory controlAdditional Skills & QualificationsStrong computer skillsAbility to stand and reach with hands and armsAbility to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift, with assistance, up to 100 poundsAbility to operate equipment safelyWhy Work Here?We offer a long-term contract-to-hire position with competitive pay and good working hours.
