Job Title

Registered Nurse – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location

Atlanta, GA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 10:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care for higher-acuity surgical patients including thoracic, orthopedic, neurological, vascular, urological, and general surgery cases
• Monitor and manage patient recovery in a fast-paced PACU environment operating 24/7
• Collaborate with charge nurses and supervisors to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call coverage for holidays as required by unit scheduling
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU experience
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Must work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for high-acuity post-surgical patients across multiple surgical specialties
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records system
• Experience working in a unit with charge nurse and supervisor oversight structure
