About Our Clinic Akaal Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinarian for our full-service animal hospital located in Citrus Heights, CA that sees cats & dogs. Our community relies on and highly respects us as a trusted animal hospital, and we are hiring another part-time DVM to work alongside the clinic’s full-time Medical Director. Services we provide include orthopedic, soft-tissue, reconstructive, and oncologic surgery, as well as pet wellness and preventative care—vaccinations, microchipping, dental care, behavior counseling, check-ups, lab work, testing, and a comprehensive online pharmacy. Akaal Pet Hospital has retained dedicated staff with excellent patient care, client communication, and teamwork, creating a great environment for a veterinarian to fully utilize their medicine and surgery skills. Our well-equipped Medical Director and supportive team welcome experienced veterinarians or recent graduates seeking mentorship and career development. Practice type: Small animal general practice with focus on pet wellness and preventative medicine, and a strong and varied surgical caseload. Average daily patient volume: ~12 per DVM. Support staff ratio: ~3:1 per DVM. Case mix: Mix of general wellness, exotics, soft-tissue, orthopedic, reconstructive, oncologic surgeries, and dentistry. Technology & equipment: Ultrasound, digital radiographs (regular and dental), in-house lab machines (CBC, chemistries, urine, V-check), and advanced cardiac biomarkers. Team culture: Dedicated, professional, courteous staff with strong patient care, client communication, and teamwork. Multiple techs and assistants support a skilled, hardworking DVM.
