Medical Assistant Primary Care

Job Summary New clinic opening August 2025. Sign‑on bonus available for eligible new hires. Responsibilities Direct patient care Obtain vital signs Reconcile medications Collect patient history Facilitate patient flow Administrative duties Manage EPIC electronic health record Schedule appointments Process medication requests Handle prior authorizations Coordinate tests and procedures Clinical procedures following competency Perform EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy Minimum Education, Experience, and Licensure High school diploma or equivalent (required) Minimum one year of direct, hands‑on patient care in a medical office, clinic, or similar setting (required) Preferred experience: Occupational Medicine, Urgent Care, Primary Care, or specialty medical practice Ability to document patient history, medications, and perform clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, or vaccines A combination of relevant experience and formal medical‑related education may be considered Additional Requirements Must obtain AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Medical Assistants hired for Occupational Medicine must obtain both BAT (Breath Alcohol Technician) and DOT (Department of Transportation Certification) within 90 days of hire All Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must complete Medical Assistant orientation; those not meeting standards will be enrolled in a Trainee Program for further development Sign‑on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria Equal Opportunity Statement Baptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr 3M HEALTHCARE
