Seeking a Senior EMC Compliance Engineer for a high growth capital equipment development and manufacturing company in the North Reading, MA area.

The EMC Engineer would be responsible for applying EMC principles (IEC 61326-1, CISPR 11, FCC, IEC 61000-4-x) and simulation tools early in development to mitigate risks across schematics, layouts, and system architectures. Developing and executing comprehensive pre-compliance and compliance test plans covering EMI, ESD, immunity, magnetic fields, harmonics, and flicker.

responsibilities:

• Design & Simulation: Apply EMC principles (IEC 61326-1, CISPR 11, FCC, IEC 61000-4-x) and simulation tools early in development to mitigate risks across schematics, layouts, and system architectures.

• Test Plan Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive pre-compliance and compliance test plans covering EMI, ESD, immunity, magnetic fields, harmonics, and flicker.

• Lab Management & Equipment: Set up, operate, and maintain EMC test gear (EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, LISNs, amplifiers) in shielded rooms and in-situ environments.

• Diagnostics & Problem-Solving: Lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective design actions to resolve EMC failures in prototypes and production units.

• Regulatory & Documentation: Interface with external labs/bodies to maintain global certifications, technical construction files, test procedures, and regulatory documentation.

• Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with cross-functional hardware, software, and mechanical teams while providing EMC design training and guidance to junior engineers.
