Job Title: Order Picker / Order Fulfillment Technician Job Description

The Order Picker / Order Fulfillment Technician accurately selects, prepares, and stages customer and retail orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role focuses on picking products using pick lists or software applications, preparing shipments to meet customer requirements, and supporting efficient warehouse operations through safe equipment use, adherence to procedures, and strong teamwork.

• Fill direct-to-customer and direct-to-retail orders using pick lists or software applications.
• Load and unload conveyors safely and efficiently.
• Palletize completed shipments (using non-electric methods) and move them to outbound staging areas.
• Pick merchandise from bins or shelves according to order specifications.
• Prepare, pack, and package orders for shipment in line with customer requirements.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of all orders before shipment.
• Supply product using first-in-first-out (FIFO) procedures by following pull sheets to ensure correct sequence.
• Assist with cleaning duties and general housekeeping as assigned by the supervisor.
• Put inbound shipments into storage following established put-away rules and procedures.
• Print labels using the appropriate business systems and ensure they are applied correctly.
• Operate a stretch wrap machine and properly stretch wrap products as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as non-electric pallet jacks, carts, bins, and totes in a safe manner.
• Use RF scanners and related technology to pick, scan, and track inventory accurately.
• Support order fulfillment activities including case selection, shipping preparation, and staging.
• Perform data entry related to inventory, orders, and shipping as required.
• Communicate job-related information clearly with team members and supervisors to accomplish work tasks.
• Demonstrate workplace behavior that aligns with company policies and values.
• Maintain good attendance in accordance with company and department policy.
• Practice good personal hygiene and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Exercise personal safety on the job and demonstrate a commitment to the safety of coworkers and products.

• Contribute to process improvement efforts within the order fulfillment and warehouse operations.

• Experience with order picking, order fulfillment, and packing in a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to use RF scanners and related scanning equipment to pick, scan, and track inventory.
• Hands-on experience with loading and unloading conveyors and palletizing shipments.
• Ability to operate non-electric pallet jacks, carts, bins, and totes safely.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure order completeness and correctness.
• Capability to perform repetitive physical tasks including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, bending, and crawling frequently.
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to push wheeled carts weighing up to 250 pounds.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 25 pounds from floor level.
• Ability to repeatedly move up to 50 pounds from waist level to pallets at heights ranging from approximately 6 inches to 48 inches from the floor.
• Ability to bend to floor level repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
• Strong communication skills to effectively share job information and coordinate with team members.
• Reliability and commitment to maintaining strong attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow FIFO procedures, pull sheets, put-away rules, and other established warehouse processes.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines and policies.

• Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or production experience is highly beneficial.
• Experience with packing orders, case selection, and shipping processes.
• Familiarity with inventory processes and data entry related to warehouse operations.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Comfort working in a small team where collaboration and mutual support are essential.
• Strong attitude, effort, and work ethic to support the team and meet operational needs.
• Willingness to support process improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
• Flexibility to adjust to minor schedule variations when business needs require it.

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment. The standard shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with voluntary overtime typically starting at 5:30 a.m. before the regular shift and limited weekend work. In some cases, a 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule may be available with prior approval. The team is small, with around 15 people, so collaboration, teamwork, and shared responsibility are essential, and everyone is expected to pull their weight. The work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and handling of products and equipment. Phones and glass items are not allowed in most work areas, and the site operates as a tobacco-free workplace. The dress code includes solid blue jeans with no holes, tears, or rips; a solid color T-shirt with no logos; and approved shoes suitable for warehouse work. Beards must be neatly trimmed to ensure proper fit of any required masks. All piercings must be removed while at work. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to policies to ensure a secure and efficient operation.

This is a Contract position based out of Collegedale, TN.

The pay range for this position is $20.42 - $20.42/hr.
