Environmental Services Tech I

Status: Full Time - Non-Exempt

Reports to: EVS Manager

Purpose and Scope of Position

This position is responsible for performing specific cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the facility. The Environmental Services (EVS) Tech performs designated cleaning and sanitizing duties. The EVS Tech is responsible for the cleanliness of the interior of the facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, routine cleaning of patient rooms, offices, clinical areas, waiting rooms, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, furniture, and equipment. Assists in maintaining a positive physical and psychosocial environment for patients. In-depth understanding of Infection Prevention and cleaning standards


Job Requirements

1. Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

1. Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a hospital setting is preferred

• Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations.
• Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise.
• Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules.
• Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority.
• Work must be performed with complete accuracy to ensure cleanliness and patient satisfaction and to prevent the spread of infection to patients, guests, and Beartooth Billings Clinic personnel
• Will encounter a variety of cleaning tasks that will require knowledge of Universal Precautions for Infection Prevention.
• Immediate and reactive planning is required that may include consideration for patients, staff and guests; immediate judgment as to whether particular tasks can be performed at a particular time or whether one can return to that task in the immediate future or not; assurance that the adequate amount of supplies and equipment are available to complete the task assigned.
• Regularly in contact with patients, families, providers and nursing staff. Working cooperatively with these groups is essential.

Schedule

• Full Time > 30 hours/week
