Part Time Communications Assistant

Job Description Communications Assistant REPORTS TO: Communications Director TERM: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Communications Primary Purpose The Communications Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the district's communications department by assisting with a variety of projects. This position provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a professional setting while contributing to the effective dissemination of information within the school community. Qualifications High School or GED equivalent Education Currently enrolled in a college or university program majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Skills And Knowledge Strong ability to follow directions and work collaboratively within a team. Proficient in Canva or similar graphic design tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices. Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) and ability to update website content. Major Responsibilities And Duties Assist in updating and enhancing the district website to ensure it is current and user-friendly. Design and create visually appealing flyers and graphics for internal and external communications. Write and edit district communications, including newsletters, announcements, and press releases. Help manage and curate content for the district's social media channels to engage with the community and promote district events.
