Associate Pastor

Role Description The Associate Pastor is a full-time, on-site role based in Columbia, MO, supporting the Lead Pastor and the overall ministry of Columbia First Assembly. Day-to-day responsibilities include teaching and leading Bible studies, assisting with worship services, and providing pastoral care through visitation, counseling, and prayer. The Associate Pastor will help oversee discipleship programs, small groups, and spiritual formation initiatives that foster growth across all ages and backgrounds. Additional duties include coordinating ministry teams, supporting outreach and community engagement efforts, collaborating with staff and volunteers, and participating in administrative and planning meetings to advance the church’s mission. Qualifications Strong Bible Study and Discipleship skills to guide individuals and groups in spiritual growth. Pastoring and Pastoral leadership abilities to support worship services and ministry initiatives. Pastoral Care competencies, including compassionate visitation, counseling, and prayer. Demonstrated commitment to integrating diverse ages, cultures, and backgrounds within the church community. Excellent communication, preaching, and teaching skills, with the ability to engage various audiences. Ability to collaborate with church staff and volunteers, manage multiple responsibilities, and work with integrity. Formal ministry training or theological education (Bible college, seminary, or equivalent experience) preferred.
