Certified Medical Assistant

Job Overview The Certified Medical Assistant reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Medical Assistant performs multi‑skilled activities to support a decentralized, patient‑centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes. Tasks include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under a physician's direction, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), recording or inputting information into patients' medical records, and preparing examination rooms. Qualifications Minimum Education and Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred. Must be certified through the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health Career Association (NHA), MedCA, or other recognized certifying bodies (CCMA, CMA, NAHP, NCCT). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes (continuous). Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance (continuous). Ability to match or discriminate between colors (continuous). Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception (continuous). Good peripheral vision capabilities (continuous). Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction (continuous). Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements (continuous). Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations (continuous).
