General Liability Property Damage Adjuster - Nashville, Tennessee

Overview Senior Casualty/Property Liability Adjuster responsible for all aspects of liability claims across multiple business classes. Field position based in Nashville, TN. This role involves evaluating coverage, liability, damages, risk transfer, litigation and settlement. The adjuster provides client support in policyholder obligations and maintains efficient claims processing functions. Responsibilities Determine appropriate investigation methods for all assigned claims, including field visits, phone contacts, and obtaining necessary documentation. Conduct insured, witness, and claimant interviews; complete site inspections; scope, measure, and write estimates using Xactimate and other fact‑finding techniques. Investigate insurance claims in a variety of settings, including retail, office, residential, condo, hospital, and government facilities, and assess loss from weather, construction defects, fire, and other events. Obtain information from experts (architects, engineers, builders, police, healthcare, accountants, etc.) to accurately assess loss extent. Apply knowledge of insurance policies to conduct investigations, provide coverage recommendations, draft coverage letters, and produce clear reports and letters to carriers. Collaborate with expert witnesses, attorneys, underwriting staff, investigators, vendors, and carriers’ examiners for investigations and evidence confirmation. Guard against fraudulent claims, ensuring accurate conclusions and adherence to policies. Maintain accurate field notes, journal entries, time and expense records, and submit reimbursement reports per client policy and industry standards. Attend trials, arbitration, ADR, and negotiations as needed; arrange contractors’ estimates and specialists’ appointments. Escalate complex claims involving contractor liability, product liability, and construction defects to a senior adjuster when warranted. Qualifications Senior experience in casualty or general liability claims handling preferred. Active license required. Fundamental understanding of claims adjudication and knowledge of commercial or residential construction; knowledge of automotive or transportation industry desirable. Basic knowledge of casualty claims law, jurisdictional issues, and code investigations. Proficiency with Xactimate and understanding of Commercial General Liability policy form. Strong negotiating, conflict resolution, and persuasion skills. Ability to draft coverage letters with minimal supervision. Research, investigative, and technical information interpretation skills at intermediate level. Excellent written and oral communication, time management, and organizational skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
