Location Avera Majestic Bluffs / Avera Sister James Care Center Job Details Worker Type: Regular | Shift: Night Shift (United States) | Pay Range: $24.50 – $48.50 Position Highlights Active LPN license in state of practice Hours: 6:00 pm – 6:30 am; 20 hours per 2 weeks LPN pay scale: $24.50 – 28.63 – 33.25 RN pay scale: $32.50 – 40.00 – 48.00 Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to residents, families, and friends. Supports understanding of conditions, medications, and self‑care skills, notes changing conditions, and re‑evaluates care objectives. Responsibilities Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions, communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to other health‑care team members, coordinating with other healthcare providers, and conferring with physicians. Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining residents, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and social factors, conferring with family, establishing nursing diagnoses, objectives, interventions, schedules, and timetables. Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing resident care goals, instructing residents, families, and friends to understand conditions, medications, and self‑care skills, answering questions, and providing information and resources. Evaluates resident care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes against standards, reviewing records, noting changing conditions, re‑evaluating objectives, and modifying nursing care plans. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, policies, and legal regulations, and alerts others regarding potential concerns. Maintains resident care equipment operation by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs. Ensures resident care supplies are ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, ordering and expediting deliveries, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Coordinates admissions, discharges, and transfers to and from the facility. Directs, plans, and coordinates the workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel. Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the specified hours. Must have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties. Must have effective communication skills: clearly hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds. Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing license in the state of practice. Preferred Qualifications 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical or long‑term care environment.
