Athletic Trainer

About this Position This position will support our group classes - Pool, After Rehab and Yoga as well as coverage in the surgical optimization clinic at the Royal Oak Hospital, providing education to patients preparing to undergo joint replacement surgery. About Outpatient Clinics Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. Scope of Work Under the general direction of the supervising physician, the athletic trainer delivers athletic training services to encompass the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers (AT) are highly qualified, multi‑skilled health care professionals who develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health care programs for athletes and other patients. Under the direction of, on the prescription of or in collaboration with a physician, the practice of athletic training includes the treatment of an individual for risk management injury prevention, clinical evaluation and assessment, immediate care and treatment, and rehabilitation and reconditioning of injury or illness, or both. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent. Preferred: Master's Degree Post‑certification Master’s degree in athletic training. Required Upon Hire: CRT‑Athletic Trainer, Certified – BOC Board of Certification and Accreditation. Required Upon Hire: LIC‑Athletic Trainer License – STATE_MI State of Michigan. Preferred: AHA OR ARC Basic Life Support (BLS). Required Upon Hire: CRT – at least one certification from preferred list. Preferred: CRT‑Performance Enhancement Specialization, Certified (PES). Preferred: CRT‑Functional Movement Screen, Certified (FMS). Preferred: CRT‑Kinesio Taping Practitioner, Certified (CKTP).
