About the Position

Physician/Doctor - Internal Medicine - Hospitalist

Location: MS

Schedule: 7-on/7-off scheduling; candidates should be able to provide 7 - 10 shifts per month; shift options include 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Position Overview

Provide hospitalist coverage across day and night shifts in an acute care hospitalist model. Hospitalist physicians respond to codes and rapid response activations as part of assigned coverage responsibilities.

Clinical Scope Highlights

• Closed ICU model
• No procedures required for hospitalist physicians
• EMR: Epic

Required Qualifications

• MD/DO
• Completion of a 3-year residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (moonlighting approval as applicable)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABIM/ABFM) or equivalent boards as accepted
• Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license in hand at time of presentation
• Active DEA registration with Mississippi address (schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5) in hand at time of presentation
• ACLS required
• Applicants must demonstrate provision of inpatient or outpatient services to at least 30 patients within the last 12 months (or qualifying training/case logs within the past 24 months as applicable)
• Candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience within the past five years to qualify.

Credentialing / Onboarding Items

• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 61 - 90 days (varies by worksite)
• Candidates must not have malpractice, license, or background issues
