Senior Underwriter, Primary Casualty

Overview Senior Underwriter, Primary Casualty – Argo Group. Responsibilities Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal submissions within the assigned territory to ensure profitable growth. Communicate product and service information consistently and impactfully to retail and wholesale brokers. Expand and strengthen broker relationships, cultivating new partnerships in key markets. Represent Argo Group in client and broker meetings, demonstrating expertise and elevating the customer experience. Build and manage a strong submission pipeline aligned with production goals and business mix targets. Leverage market insights and contacts to generate business, gather intelligence, and cross‑sell complementary products. Qualifications 5+ years of Primary Casualty underwriting experience with in‑depth knowledge of US GL and Supported Excess, including product nuances, compliance, and risk management. Proficient negotiation and underwriting skills. Strong analytical ability to navigate financial statements and complex data. Excellent broker communication, networking, and relationship‑building aptitude. Disciplined focus on execution, accuracy, and follow‑through with a sense of urgency. Outstanding organizational and time‑management talents. Adaptable and able to thrive within an evolving market. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $136,900 – $163,000 (based on experience and location). Eligible for a bonus in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
