Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (0700–1930) and Nights (1900–0730) available | Every other weekend required | Rare call/standby requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed ICU with a typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio; may adjust to 1:1 for CRRT/Organ Donation or 1:3 during overflow/stepdown situations
• Titrate all critical care drips within ordered parameters, including vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics
• Perform care and removal of central lines and manage advanced monitoring equipment including vents, CRRT, and IABP
• Monitor, interpret, and admit telemetry data using the Phillips system; remote tele techs serve as back-up
• Manage a diverse patient population including sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, COPD, DKA, overdose, renal failure, neurosurgical, general surgery, and vascular patients
• Float to Stepdown and MedSurg units as needed based on census and staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure
• Minimum of 1 year of critical care experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (all must be unexpired)
• Demonstrated competency with CRRT, IABP, mechanical ventilators, and post-code/therapeutic hypothermia protocols
• Proficiency with vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics
• Must complete EPIC education and general competencies prior to starting on the unit

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with lumbar drains and ventriculostomies
• Familiarity with self-scheduling and block scheduling in a high-acuity environment
