Surgical Tech, Labor & Delivery - Premium Pay

Job Summary We are seeking a certified Surgical Technician to join Vanderbilt Health TempForce for a 13‑week assignment at our Labor and Delivery unit. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional surgical care at VUMC. Location & Assignment Details Location: Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) – Nashville, TN Team: Labor and Delivery Assignment Length: 13 weeks (potential extension up to 1 year) Shift: Nights 7:00PM – 7:00AM Pay Rate: $60 per hour Anticipated Start: June2026 Key Responsibilities Facilitate patient care by assisting the surgeon before, during, and after surgical procedures. Plan, set up, perform, and clean up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and scrub tech. Demonstrate knowledge of and apply Principles of Asepsis to create and maintain the sterile field. Perform sharp, sponge, and instrument counts according to policy. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an approved specific discipline or successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during service in the U.S. armed forces. Experience: Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience preferred; Labor and Delivery experience preferred. Certification: National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Technical Specialist – TS‑C required (military training accepted in lieu of certification). Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred.
