Benefits Consultant

Rockport Healthcare Services is seeking a highly experienced Benefits Consultant for a temporary, project-based engagement. This role is crucial for assessing our current benefits landscape and providing expert strategic advisory. We are looking for a consultant with a proven track record and deep healthcare industry experience.

Scope of Work

· Conduct a comprehensive benefits compliance review across the organization, encompassing multiple plans with varied enrollment calendars

· Assess plan documentation, governance structures, cost, and utilization trends to evaluate overall plan design effectiveness

· Benchmark current offerings against market competitiveness for the healthcare sector

· Identify opportunities for plan consolidation, cost savings, and benefits program optimization

· Advise on benefits administration within a managed services model, including service delivery, plan configuration, and vendor accountability

· Assess benefits structure and compliance considerations for a unionized workforce, including collectively bargained plan obligations

· Develop and deliver a strategic benefits advisory report and multi-year roadmap with prioritized recommendations

Experience

· Significant experience in benefits consulting, ideally within healthcare or multi-site environments managing multiple plans with varied enrollment complexity

· Deep knowledge of California benefits law and compliance requirements (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.)

· Experience with plan design, vendor management, and benefits administration governance

· Experience with unionized workforces and collectively bargained benefit plans a plus

· Prior experience in healthcare, managed facilities, or similar complex organizations, including familiarity with managed services benefits administration models, preferred

· 401(k) or retirement plan advisory experience a plus

Qualifications

· Strong analytical skills with ability to assess cost and utilization data

· Excellent communication and executive presentation skills

· CEBS, CBP, or equivalent benefits certification preferred

· Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field

Starting rate of $150/hr
