OVERVIEW

An established commercial real estate firm is looking for a Transaction Coordinator to join its retail portfolio team. This is a mentorship-track role built for someone early in their commercial real estate career who wants real exposure to lease negotiations, tenant relationships, and portfolio strategy — with a clear path toward full commercial leasing. You'll work closely with senior leasing and asset management staff across a portfolio of grocery-anchored and retail shopping centers, learning the deal mechanics from the ground up.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Draft, track, and help negotiate retail lease renewals across a portfolio of shopping centers
• Process and manage lease assignment and subletting requests from tenants
• Analyze tenant sales reports and occupancy costs to flag risk and opportunity
• Conduct market comp research to support leasing and renewal decisions
• Coordinate with property management and legal teams to keep lease files, abstracts, and key dates current
• Track lease expirations, options, and renewal deadlines across the portfolio
• Support due diligence and financial analysis on prospective leasing deals
• Build and maintain relationships with tenants, brokers, and internal stakeholders
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing portfolio and deal activity for leadership

WHAT IT TAKES

• 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate, leasing, or a related analytical/financial role
• Strong financial and analytical skills — comfortable working with lease terms, occupancy costs, and comp data
• Sharp written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple lease files and deadlines at once
• Comfortable in Excel, with basic financial modeling skills
• A genuine interest in retail real estate and a desire to grow into portfolio management
• Detail-oriented — small errors in lease terms or dates can have real financial consequences
• Team-oriented, able to work closely with leasing, legal, and asset management colleagues
• A self-starter who takes initiative on research and due diligence work
