Caregivers provide essential support to developmentally disabled individuals, primarily within foster home settings. They assist with daily living activities and hygiene tasks, help maintain a safe and comfortable environment, and promote socialization and community participation. This role includes occasional transportation duties and typically involves working evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and some hygiene tasks
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Transport clients occasionally to medical appointments, grocery stores, and other locations
• Manage medication and prepare meals as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of the home and manage household tasks like laundry
• Encourage client participation in community and social activities
• Keep accurate care records and ensure patient safety
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and nurturing home environment

Preferred Qualifications

• OIS certification
• First Aid and CPR certification (employer will provide training for the right candidate)
• Effective communication skills
• Strong time management abilities
• Demonstrated empathy and compassion
• Record keeping proficiency
• Household management skills
• Focus on patient safety
