Medical Assistant Certified - Surgery Clinic - FT Days

Job Summary The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) performs patient care duties in the ambulatory clinic environment. The CMA functions under the direct supervision of the physician while performing clinical tasks during patient care, and reports to the clinic manager for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation. The CMA demonstrates competency in all skills related to patient care, maintains an inventory of examination room supplies, assists in efficient patient flow, ensures patient safety, and serves as a role model for other CMAs in the clinical area. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Current American Heart Association BLS Certification Current Medical Assistant Certification by an approved National Examination Agency (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcare Association (NHA)) Interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members to foster optimal quality of outpatient care Core Competencies Patient-Centered Care – Demonstrates a commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality care prioritizing patient and family well-being.
