Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. This role ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care for patients across various settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard protocols; document according to policy.
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs at admission and throughout the care episode.
• Provide clinical supervision for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete education and competency testing specific to patient population, age, procedures, and protocols per unit standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large OR.
• Ability to scrub and assist in surgical procedures.
• Must exhibit teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment is required.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with Epic software preferred, but training will be provided.
• Experience in Orthopedics, ENT, and/or vascular procedures is a plus.

Education

Required: One of the following:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS certification is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (if obtained) must be completed through accredited organizations.

Preferred:

• PALS certification preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Schedule

The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with no scrub required.
