Location: Lancaster, SC
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM (consistent second shift)
Compensation: $20–$25 per hour DOE + shift differential
Employment Type: Full-Time | Evaluation-to-Hire

A day in the role

Your shift kicks off at 3:00 PM. You review the day’s work orders and fabrication drawings, mark your layout, and begin fit-up on aluminum and carbon steel components. You set your parameters, make clean tack welds, and move into final welds—flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead as needed. Between passes, you verify dimensions with a tape measure and calipers, check for potential distortion, and correct any issues before they grow. By evening’s end, you’ve produced accurate, clean assemblies that pass inspection—and you’ve kept your work area tidy and safe throughout.

What you’ll take on

• Produce high-quality MIG welds on aluminum and carbon steel components and assemblies.
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and work orders to meet specifications.
• Handle layout, fit-up, and tack welding to prepare parts for final welding.
• Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet visual and dimensional standards.
• Inspect work to minimize distortion, burn-through, and other weld defects.
• Maintain production pace without sacrificing quality and safety.
• Report equipment or material issues promptly and maintain a clean workstation.

Required background

• At least 2 years of MIG welding experience.
• Demonstrated, hands-on aluminum MIG welding experience (mandatory; candidates without aluminum experience will not be considered).
• Experience welding carbon steel.
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings with confidence.
• Fit-up and tack welding proficiency.
• Comfort using measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
• Self-directed work style and reliable attendance with dependable transportation.

Preferred extras

• TIG welding background.
• Relevant welding certifications.
• Job shop/custom fabrication experience.
• History building both small parts and large assemblies.
