INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPER

As an Instructional Developer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our federal government clients. You will play a crucial role in creating learning solutions to help ensure our clients are able to perform the data analytics necessary to make informed decisions, ensure operational efficiency, and conduct risk analysis. At GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role as an Instructional Developer, you are responsible for supporting training activities for federal government clients of GDIT. In this position, you will assist with the production and execution of high-impact virtual learning programs (webinars, web-based training, and virtual conferences), in-person instructor-led training, training guides, and other training-related resources.  Instructional design, development, and facilitation skills are a must.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your instructional development expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Instructional Developer must have:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, e-learning, instructional design or related field.

• Experience: 2+ years of related experience developing training content

• Excellent understanding and application of all phases of the ADDIE process.

• Knowledge of agile instructional design for fast-paced environments.

• Knowledge and application of Adult Learning theory, methodologies, and/or frameworks (e.g., Blooms Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick Model, and SAM).

• Experience designing, developing, and implementing SCORM-compliant e-learning training

• Awareness of Section 508 compliance, and conversion of training and supporting documentation into 508 compliant products.

• Experience facilitating training in-person in a traditional classroom setting or on-line via virtual classrooms

• Experience or training in developing learning design documents, storyboards, and e-learning prototypes.

• Experience analyzing and converting source or government-furnished information into instructionally sound learning content.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent project and task management and prioritization skills.

• Experience designing and developing learning content according to standardized styles and templates.

• Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a blended environment.

• Knowledge of major online delivery and content sharing platforms (i.e. MS Teams, WebEx, Adobe Connect, Blackboard, SharePoint, etc.).

• Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360) and instructional technology best practices.

• Security clearance level: Current DHS U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) BI Clearance or Secret Clearance preferred or must have the ability to obtain one.

• US citizenship required

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

As an Instructional Developer, you will:

• Participate in developing new and existing instructional products that meet government training needs in support of ACE and ATAP systems.

• Collaborate with a variety of personnel including subject matter experts, system developers, business process owners, and instructional designers to build innovative training programs and content.

• Develop ACE and ATAP training and performance support materials including instructor guides, student guides, supplemental training materials such as quick reference guides, web-based training, virtual instructor-led training materials, and other training content, as needed.

• Assist with planning, developing, and evaluating in-person, online, and hybrid training programs.

• Support learning technology initiatives including webinars, online courses, self-paced e-learning, and streaming video.

• Prepare standard program content and messaging (e.g., course descriptions, learning objectives, outreach emails, etc.).

• Conduct research for relevant learning program content.

• Participate in the analysis of learner feedback towards making recommendations for training enhancements.
