SUMMARY: Understands and reinforces the Company vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. Performs assigned tasks in a manner reflecting and achieving the Vision consistent with the Company's Core Values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, & Growth and Results.

Utilize and operate all forklift equipment for moving raw materials and finished product. Responsible for safe operation of forklifts throughout the facility and yard. Complies with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance and housekeeping standards. All other duties as assigned and expected.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Transfer finished bundles of product from the table to the warehouse or yard inventory
2. Identify and remove from inventory any damaged bundles noticed while placing finished bundles in inventory
3. Inform supervisor on duty of any damaged bundles removed so rework, rebundling and retagging can be implemented
4. Scans bundles into the warehouse or yard location
5. Empties scrap hoppers at each mill during shift
6. Band and haul off mill scrap from each mill during shift
7. Assists with moving tooling racks to mill for changeovers
8. Understands the different pipe sizes
9. Understands how to read and interpret the bundle tags
10. Understands the warehouse and yard layout for finished product storage
11. Proficient with removing bundles from tables, placing in inventory and keeping scrap hoppers empty
12. Assists during changeovers where needed
13. Read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages and tape measure
14. Ability to unload incoming shipments of raw material and various equipment
15. Maintain forklift certification
16. Complete knowledge of Company quality requirements and procedures
17. Complete knowledge of Company safety requirements and procedures
18. Complete knowledge of Company housekeeping rules for all work and non-work areas utilized
19. Communicate to management and peers any safety, quality, preventative maintenance, customer focus, or equipment issues as part of the company's improvement initiatives

 

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

4. Be able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms

7. Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, caliper and gages
8. Ability to work flexible hours and overtime

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
3. Ability to conform to safety and quality requirements
4. Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, twist, bend, kneel, see, talk, hear
5. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently and on occasion lift or move 100 pounds.
6. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility
